From the Netherlands! CB1100R Part-5

オランダ ＣＭＳ社より 依頼を受けた、ＣＢ１１００ＲＣでの ＲＣＭ製作 Ｐａｒｔ‐５です！
Hello everyone! This is Nakamura, president of the Sanctuary head office.
This is part five of the RCM production based on a CB1100RC,
an order from the Dutch company CMS.
前回 降ろされたエンジン・・ 早速分解作業に 入りましょう。
This is the engine we dismounted from the chassis in previous time.
We are now going to disassemble it.
いかに 旧い年式の空冷エンジンとは 言え、２本のカムシャフトが ２つの異なる
カムチェーンで 駆動されてる構造なんかは、さすが ＨＯＮＤＡ製と 言う感じ・・
This old model, air-cooled engine has two cam shafts driven by
two different cam chains. This mechanism is an eloquent element
of Honda’s originality.
作業してる 当の 畔柳は 「複雑なんすよねぇ～・・」 などと、ぼやいてましたが・・
Kuroyanagi, the man in charge, grumbles “Ah, it’s so complicated…”
カムシャフトが 分解された所で、カムチェーンテンショナー系を 確認・・
う～ん・・・ 何やら状態 悪そう？です・・
We have checked the cam chain tensioner after disassembling the cam
shafts. Hmm, it is apparently not in a good condition.
シリンダーヘッドを 外しましょう・・
The cylinder heads are being detached.
ピストンが現れ この後 シリンダーも取り外します。
ＣＢは シリンダーのスタッドボルトが 錆等で固着し、なかなか シリンダーが
抜けなかったりするんですが、このエンジンは すんなり 抜く事が出来ました。
おそらく 以前に一度 分解された経歴が あると予想されます。
The pistons are showing themselves, and the cylinders are detached later.
It is often the case with CBs that the cylinders’ stud bolts are firmly fixed
with rust, making it difficult to remove the cylinders. But in our case, they
have been removed smoothly. I guess the engine was once disassembled.
あぁ・・ シリンダーに入ってる この カムチェーンテンショナー、状態が悪いです・・
このテンショナーは、新品部品が メーカー欠品な為 大変入手が難しく、困りました。
交換しない訳には いかないし、何か 考えなくてはいけません・・
Oh my! The other cam tensioner included in the cylinder is also in a worst
condition… This has thrown us into a trouble, because new tensioners are
now not available from the makers and it is very difficult to find the parts.
There is no choice but to replace the component.
We have to find some solution.
クランクケース周辺の 分解に 移ります
OK, we are now disassembling the crank case and surrounding area.
左エンジンカバーと クランクケースの 合わせ面に、深い傷を 複数発見・・
オイル漏れの 原因になります。
Several deep flaws have been found in the connection between the left
engine cover and crank case. It can cause oil leak.
クラッチハウジングを 外して 更に 分解を進めます。
The clutch housing is removed for further disassembly.
いよいよ クランクケースの分解に 移りましょう・・
どうか 致命的な故障が 見つかりませんようにっ！
ＣＭＳ Ｍｒ．Ｍｉｋｅさ～んっ！思ったより エンジン内部の消耗 著しかったですよ～っ・・
ＣＢは 部品入手が 非常に厳しいので、あちこち探してみますが、少し時間が
掛かるかも知れないです・・ 次回も、エンジン分解の 後半を お見せしますね～！
Finally, we are advancing to the disassembly process of the crank case.
Praying there will be no fatal defects! Mr. Mike, can you see? The engine has
deteriorated inside more severely than expected! Since the parts of CBs are
very difficult to get, we should make every effort to find them. I believe it will
take some time. In our next posting, we will let you see the latter haft of our
efforts on the engine disassembly.
